Online Information: Learn skills to detect truth in social media

Join our online discussion group on navigating digital information – scroll down for registration link leading to the first session on Zoom, Thursday, Feb. 18, 3:00 pm.

This group will explore topics including how to fact-check information, how to evaluate sources, and how to distinguish fact from opinion, and is moderated by Katherine Murphy.

Centered on the Crash Course YouTube series, Navigating Digital Information, here is what we will learn in Episode 1, Online Information:

“We love the internet! It’s a wealth of information where we can learn about just about anything, but it’s also kind of a pit of information that can be false or misleading. So, we’re partnering with Mediawise and the Stanford History Education Group to make this series on Navigating Digital Information. Let’s learn the facts about facts!”
