Forums and Events

The League of Women Voters (LWV) is a grassroots, non-profit, non-partisan political group. It never supports or opposes any candidate or political party at any level of government.

We support voter education by offering candidate events so voters can learn more about candidates for office and make informed ballot choices.

CANDIDATE EVENTS

We are well versed at moderating candidate events, inviting all candidates who have filed for the positions featured in the event (except those running unopposed), and ensuring that standards are maintained regarding time allowed for opening and closing statements, responses to questions and rebuttals, if allowed. Questions are collected from the community and screened to be sure that no candidates are singled out as the target of a question, name-calling and other derogatory wording is not allowed.
