Our moderator will be Stefanie Wickstrom, senior lecturer at Central Washington University. Stefanie will give an overview of solar farms and a timeline of solar farm applications in the county and of the Columbia Solar Projects in particular.
Speakers will include:
Dick Carkner, retired WSU agricultural economist and member of Kittitas County Solar Facilities Citizens Advisory Committee
Paul Jewell, Kittitas County commissioner
Howard Lyman, retired farmer/rancher and animal-rights activist, member of Kittitas County Solar Facilities Citizens Advisory Committee
Kelly McLain, Washington State Department of Agriculture
Marlene Pfeifer. realtor and member of Kittitas County Solar Facilities Citizens Advisory Committee
Kathi Pritchard, an organizer of Save Our Farms, and land owner who lives near one of the proposed solar-farm sites
Each speaker will give a short presentation, and audience members may submit questions. The forum will be video-taped and shown on ECTV. This event is co-sponsored by the Ellensburg Public Library.
