Dear League Member and Friends;
Since inception, the League of Women Voters has typically enrolled its members at the local level and sent the majority of the membership dues to the state and national levels (so our $60 yearly fee went mostly to state and national to support LWV work at those levels and we got to keep $9). Starting February 3, 2025, joining the League of Women Voters will change from joining through the local office to joining through our national office. The price will also increase from $60/year to $75/year (although members can join for any amount down to a minimum of $20/year). The national office (LWVUS) will then distribute your membership fee to state and finally, down to us.
Because this is a big change and will require joining or renewing using a new process, we strongly recommend that members and friends watch this short video. You can also read more about this change here. In February, current LWV members will receive an email from LWVUS with instructions how to login to the new membership platform, ChapterSpot. This email will ask you to “claim your membership” which simply means you will create a ChapterSpot login and member profile. You may also be asked to take a short survey to help LWV provide you with the best member experience.
Most of our members have already renewed for 2025, but if you have not yet done so or you want to join the League of Women Voters of Kittitas County, you may do so at the lower $60/year level until Feb. 3, 2025 by clicking here. If you have any questions about this process, please contact membership@lwv.org.
